DC Sports Entertainment Commission may lose chief and funding BizJournals

The D.C. Sports Entertainment Commission credited with helping to deliver Nationals Park on time and on budget is on the brink of losing its leader and its financial viability. Gregory O Dell the commission s chief executive officer is a top candidate to replace Reba Pittman Walker as CEO and general manager of the Washington Convention Center Authority . On top of that the chairman of the D.C. Council Economic Development Committee wants to ax a . million subsidy from the budget that the sports commission s leaders say is needed to continue operations. O Dell said May he is weighing the idea of replacing Walker. The convention center board has approached me and I told them I would consider it he said. Right now I am completely focused on the Sports Entertainment Commission but I am honored that they would ask me so I told them I would give it consideration.
